I went to Brussels for a weekend. First time I travelled alone......expensive too! Ah well, Now I am wiser.
I left work on a thursday and took a train to London to pick up my passport then off to Manchester Airport. Since my flight was at 9:25am and check-in didn't start till 7:25am, I chose to wait at the airport - didn't want to risk travelling in on Friday and missing my flight.
Didn't get what I went there for but I made the most amazing friends and ate the best food ever! Large portions and pretty cheap..... a 1litre bottle of water at the restaurant cost 6 Euros!!!! :-O
I booked my hotel online and since I was in a hurry, I didn't check the reviews *shamefaced
Arrived and what do you know! It was in a red light district! Lol. Anyway, I like to think of it as part of the experience. The good thing was perfectly located with easy access to the Metro, Landmark buildings and a music festival - Festival cost 20euros pp but my friends and I stayed outside the fence and watched till midnight for free. Lol....
.... if I had to do it all again!! Yesss!!!
Update:
I asked my friend if it was ok to include her pictures in the blog and she said yes!!!! So I am adding some more. She took me around and introduced me to other tourists....and YES! she was with me at the festival (or rather, outside. Lol)...... A model and fashion blogger, guys say hi to Reena Lynn ! :)
